As the curtain falls on his inaugural Hong Kong campaign, trainer Brett Crawford reflects on a season of success and looks ahead with optimism. Crawford's journey in Hong Kong has been nothing short of impressive, with a remarkable 21 wins, a significant portion of which came from stable transfers.
"I'm thrilled with our performance so far," Crawford shares. "Winning a Group race in our debut season was a pinnacle moment, and it's given us a strong foundation for the future."
One of Crawford's key horses, Public Attention, will be a strong contender in the upcoming Class Two race at Sha Tin. With a promising third-place finish in his previous outing and an ideal barrier draw, expectations are high.
"Public Attention has been doing exceptionally well," Crawford comments. "He's a beautiful mover, and I believe he'll excel over longer distances. I'm excited to see him in action this weekend."
Another horse to watch is The Unique Star, who will tackle the Class Three race after a solid third-place finish last month. Crawford believes the Australian import is ready to step up and showcase his true potential.
"The Unique Star has had some minor setbacks, but he's turned a corner now. I'm confident he'll be competitive, especially with the right trip."
In the Class Four race, Ninja Derby, a consistent performer for Crawford this season, will aim to build on his recent solid return after an injury layoff.
"Ninja Derby is in great shape and ready to go the distance," Crawford adds.
Gor Gor, another Crawford runner, will look to regain his winning form in the Class Four event. Crawford believes the horse has the potential to go further and is expecting a strong performance based on his recent work.
"Gor Gor could be a dark horse in this race," Crawford speculates.
With a strong team of six runners, Crawford is poised for a successful conclusion to his first Hong Kong campaign. His ability to adapt and succeed with stable transfers is a testament to his skill and strategic approach.
"I'm excited for the new season and the opportunities it brings. We've learned a lot, and I believe we're in a great position to build on our success."
As Crawford's horses take to the track, the racing community eagerly anticipates the outcome, knowing that this trainer's stable is one to watch.
