It’s designed to handle T-shirts, hoodies, pants, towels, and undergarments, but don’t expect it to tackle large blankets or flip clothes right-side out—yet. Its compact design (18 x 19 inches) and adjustable height (2 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches) make it a practical addition to most homes, though you’ll need a table around 48 x 30 inches for it to work comfortably.
Mechanically, Issac 0 is a marvel of precision. Its multi-axis structure includes a 4-degree-of-freedom neck, dual 6-degree-of-freedom arms, and simple one-axis hands, allowing it to manipulate garments with surprising accuracy. It runs on a 600W power system, plugs into a standard 120V outlet, and supports both Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi for seamless updates.
What sets Issac 0 apart is its single-minded focus. Unlike general-purpose humanoids like Figure AI’s Figure 02, which aim to handle a wide range of tasks, Issac 0 does one thing—fold laundry—and it’s designed to do it well. But its reliance on human assistance raises questions. When the robot encounters a tricky garment or an error, a remote specialist takes control for 5 to 10 seconds to resolve the issue. This human-in-the-loop model isn’t just a workaround; it’s a core part of the robot’s learning process, feeding data into its training pipeline to improve performance over time.
Here’s the kicker: Issac 0 isn’t cheap. Priced at $7,999 with a $250 refundable deposit, it’s a significant investment. Alternatively, early adopters can opt for a $450-per-month subscription plan.
